Beauty Haul 2013

So I went to my mams's for the holidays and we went shopping to buy stuff that we do not need! :D

I ended up getting some things that I have wanted for some time now but never got.

Everything is very inexpensive - the makeup - and I'm so happy with the quality of the things that I got!

The first stop was Walmart

Second stop was Walgreens

Third stop was HEB

Fourth stop was Big Lots:

I bought 2 of these Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils. The shades are 04 Continuous Almond and 01 Eternal White. The price was $3.99. Once it sets, it lasts! On the packaging itself it indicates if the shadow pencil is matte or shimmer. I LOVE THAT because you aren't guessing what type of finish it is! They are sharpenable. There are several shades.... very pretty. These shadow sticks are very smooth, creamy and VERY PIGMENTED!!

I bought 2 of these Jordana Easyliner For Lips Retractable Pencil. the shades are Silver Lilac and Tawny. Silver Lilac is the purply shade shown. I LOVE IT!! I love these lip liners because they are very pigmented and they stay for a very long period of time. The price is $1.99!! Example: I filled lined and filled in my lips with Silver Lilac and applied a lip gloss over. About an hour later the gloss faded and the lip liner was still holding strong. It was a very pretty lip color! It looked like a stain on my lips. Then a few hours later the lip liner finally faded on the "filling" of my lips but I was still left with the lip line!! I couldn't believe that several hours later I still had the lip line.....Lean like a Chola!!

The photo to the left and below show the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shades 250 Nude Pink, 25 Bad to the Bronze and a frosty blue shade...I'm sorry Big Lots had a security sticker on the top of it and when I tore it off it pulled the top label off as well. Once I get the color I will insert it here. I got the turquoise color at Big Lots for $1.00!!! I couldn't believe it!! Although this color isn't very pigmented it still is pretty and I couldn't pass it up. The other 2 I got from CVS when they had a BOGO 50% off. The Nude Pink is limited
edition and it was the last one so I had to take it. :D It was not an option to leave it behind.
My favorite out of the bunch is the Nude Pink. It is
just like the Mac cream eyeshadow base in Painterly that I have but the Maybelline CT is so much more cheaper and it reeeallly makes the eyeshadow stay on allll day! IT'S AWESOME!!

These two Rimmel London Vinyl Jelly Gloss Lip Liners I got from Big Lots and I am very impressed with how smooth they are! They are my favorite now! The price was $2.00 for both liners. The shades that I got were 004 Sorbet and 001 Moreish. The Sorbet is the coral colored one. It is so beautiful!! They are just what the packaging says...Glossy! Typically you need some type of moisture on your lips when you use a lip liner because they are so dry but this liner is VERY moisturizing! You can wear them alone. Very silky feeling on the lips.

The pictures below and to the left display the Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Sticks are awesome! I bought three for $2.80 at Big Lots! I could not pass these up either! The price was just too good! The color shades from top to bottom: 201 Torch, 205 Atomic and 210 Flare.
Once they set, they almost do not smudge! :D The packaging states "All day crease proof, fade proof color". We'll see how they perform.

This Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in the color 02 Espresso Last. It is awesome!! Once it sets it doesn't smudge unless you rub the hell out of it!! ...... don't rub your eye like that though! Lol! I believe the price was $2.49 but no more than that. VERY PIGMENTED!!! Beautiful pencil!!

The photo to the left shows the tem that I got from Walmart. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Triple Action Toner. It treats acne, eliminates oil and shine, and refreshes and soothes skin. I've been using it for a few days now and it feels really good on the skin! Next is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. I haven't used this yet but I'm sure it will be great. Third is the Olay Total Effects Blemish Control Salicylic Acid Acne Cleanser. This doesn't foam up or anything... it doesn't really feel like it's doing anything to my skin. I do know that it is removing my make up but I'm so used to some type of foam or suds and I don't get anything from this product. :D I've been using this as well for the past few nights and so far it's performing well. Last is the Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel. I'm using this as a primer for my face. My makeup does not move at all during the day. I've heard that it has the same active ingredients as the Makeup Forever HD Primer... I think... I know it's a high end product - my sister told me about it and you can check it out on youtube... a lot of people rave about it. I got into a bit more detail in my actual youtube video that is available now to view.

This photo to the right has some products that my mama gave me. I'm so excited for this stash of stuff because it's all things I've been wanting to try but just haven't gotten a chance to.

Photo to the Left: I went to HEB to get these things. ELF Makeup Mist and Set. I've heard a lot of good things about this setting spray so I'm excited to try it. It was only $3.00. Next is the Makeup Lock and Seal. The same thing with this product, I've heard good things about this product. It is like Mac's Fix+

where it "wets" your eyeshadow so it applies more pigmented and allows it to set and stay on your eyes. Last is the NYC Sky Rise Mascara. Haven't tried it yet but heard good things. Will let you know soon my thoughts about the product. :D

Photo to the right: Milani Baked Eyeshadow in 616 Must Have Fuchsia. I got it on sale for $3.79 at Walgreens. I do not use it as an eyeshadow. I actually use it as a blush and it is phenomenal!! LOVE IT!!!

Photo to the Left: Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in 170 Coral Reef. I got this at Big Lots for only $2.00!!! Awesome Deal!!!! It is super pigmented and feels so smooth on the lips. Not sticky at all. It looks beautiful on top of the Rimmel Liner from above in Sorbet.

NYX Round Lipsticks

Hello Lovelies,

Here are the swatches to the NYX Round Lipsticks that I purchased from Style21.com. I love this website. Everything is very inexpensive and products are always on sale. I got 8 lipsticks and they are in order of appearance from my style21.com video. I purchased all the lipsticks on sale, which were $2.49 each. I have all the lipsticks individually swatched so you can see the colors a little more up close. On this particular site it is hard to pick out which shades you want because the swatches aren't so great on the site. All it shows is the lipstick in the tube and sometimes the photo isn't as good OR the color worn isn't what is it looks like at all in the tube. So I hope you enjoy this and it helps in making a decision on some lipsticks you'll want to buy. :D

                                                   This is an overview of all the colors so you can see. They are all super pretty.....except the 2 frosty shades.... :( I don't like frosty-ness on my lips....Boo! LOL This picture was taken incorrect because i was supposed to turn it up right buuuuut i don't know what i was thinking! So the colors begin to the far left >>>>>>> and come over to the right<<<<<<<<. So for those that are still a little confused, hold your right arm bent in front of you and the colors start by the wrist and come back towards the elbow. LOL sorry!

This lipstick is called Louisiana. It has shine to it but there aren't any sparkles, glitter or frosty-ness.

This is Strawberry Milk. This has a beautiful shine and again there is no frosty-ness, glitter, sparkle..... blah blah blah! :) The swatches are the furthest color to the right.

This is Power and it is the same as the others above - No sparkle, just pretty shine. This one is my favorite. It is pink/purple....verrrry pretty.

This is Paris, a more neutral pink as you can see from the swatch. Very pretty and again no frosty-ness. I haven't played around too much with the lipsticks but i love the range in colors and they don't smell funny or have a drying feel to them. I will get back to you when I wear them a bit more. :)

This is Indian Pink. I always want to call this one Indian Rose. I don't know whyyy!! :D Anyways! This one is a bit frosty. It is a very pretty coral but me personally I do not like frosty lips. I will just wear this particular lipstick with a lipgloss that doesn't have any glitter or shimmer to it and it'll be fine. This photo looks well for color but the photo below will show the swatch again but you can pick up the frost.

This is Christie. :( I don't like this color because it is frosty. It is a pretty pink but it is not for me. Booooo!  If you look at the photo below you can reeeealy pick up on the frost that this color has.

This one is Thalia. I LOVE this one because it is a deeper pink neutral. Shine, no frost! YAY!!  This is the type of color that I wear most often. Pink but neutral.

 This is Tea Rose. Very prettttttty!!! :D  As you can see I bought mostly alllll pinks. :D No shimmer, glitter.

ELF 32 Piece Cool Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

Ok! I'm sorry I'm a few days late with this but here are the swatches of all 32 colors.

This is the first row. On some, I have 2 pictures of the row because on some you could see colors better than others and blah blah blah.... So the top row is mainly bronzes.... which i like.... to be fair all the colors have 2 swipes over each other.

      This is the second row and this is where you begin to see the coluh!!! :D The pink shade ( 3rd from left to right) isn't very pigmented... it actually feels very chalky.  Maybe you just can't see it on my brown skin... :D

 This is the 3rd row.....obviously! and I was disappointed with the beginning colors because you can't seeee them!! :( With the first few colors, you'll have to use a pigmented colored base in order to get that pretty color pay off that you're looking for. The 4th green, (I talk about in the video) isn't pigmented at all! This one goes along with the pink shade in the 2nd row that feels chalky as you apply it. It feels dusty.... not smooth like the other colors. The 3rd color (the lighter shade of green) is really pretty!! That one feels almost silky. :) That one is a yes BUT again, a light base is probably the best to use with it so the color can really stand out.

This is the last row in the bunch and it is my favie! :D I like smokey eyes so that purple is GORGEOUS!! I have to be honest... that last color is supposed to be the black shade of the bunch.... it is not pigmented at all which is a shame. :( In this picture, the 3rd color from the left is blue and looks black. I do have to say that one is one of my favorites because it has that silky texture to it and it is super pigmented. I love it!! OH!! and that first color that you see at the far left, i love to use as a highlight on the brow bone. In the palette it looks pink but it actually comes off white. :)

I actually can't stop using this palette. I mean, it does have some misses on it - I'm not going to lie, but it does have a nice variety of colors and it is something that isn't expensive.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Temptress

 I like this pink shade. It isn't a very BRIGHT shade but you can see the beautiful pink on the lips. For something different than the usual neutral shade, it's nice to pick this one up and have that nice, light was of color.

It feels good on the lips, moisturizing. When you think of lipsticks, the drying feeling comes to mind and that's not at all what this lipstick is.   :D   It is a creme lipstick which has some slight shine to it and can be worn alone, without any lip gloss.

Color: Creme - 680 - Temptress

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Pink Truffle

I LOOOOOVE this lipstick!!!!! It's a neutral shade that can be worn anywhere with everything!!! I a soooooo happy that I picked this one up!! 

It feels so good on the lips! Since it is a lip butter you can expect it to feel almost as a lip balm... 

It does have a slight scent but it isn't anything that bothers when you have it on your lips (you can't smell anything once it's on). 

Color: 001 - Pink Truffle

I purchased this at HEB Grocery (only in TX) for $3.48 with a $3.00 off coupon but regular price is $6.48. I am VERY satisfied with this purchase!!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Demure

This lipstick has a little color to it but not much. It's a pinky tone with a frosty-ness to it. I do like it but it is not very pigmented. 

It is a Creme lipstick so it feels good on the lips.  It does have some shine to it so it isn't a flat matte color. 

I could say that I wouldn't grab for this lipstick too much just because i already have something like it and when you peek in through the top, it doesn't look like it would be a sheer color. You know, it almost looks like the lip butter that I put in the post before this one except it has a bit more color but not by much.   :(

I purchased it at HEB Grocery (only in Texas) for $1.97 with a $3.00 off coupon but regular price was $4.97.... I'm glad that I didn't pay $5 bucks for it!  Phew!!  :D

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Cotton Candy

This is nice for a slight tint of color and shine. I am not in LOVE with this lip color just because it is not pigmented. It is very sheer and just as it looks on my hand is how it came out on my lips. It honestly is my own lip color with just a frosty shine over them. 

Like I have said before, my lips are pigmented so it may look very different on someone else but for me it didn't test out so well.

It is very moisturizing though, like a lip balm. So I'll still use it for SLIGHT color for work. 

I am not saying that these are bad lipsticks, I really do like them, but this shade in particular was not too great for me.   :(    I was just expecting for it to look like the actual stick, a nice bright pink color.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Primrose

 I love this lipstick!

It is a Creme Lipstick so it has a little shine to it. It feels a little bit moisturizing. I could use this alone or with a gloss on top.   :D

Color: Creme - 668 - Primrose

The color does look light on my lips because my lips are pigmented but as you can see on my hand, the color does show very well.

If I were to place some concealer over my lips and then apply the lipstick over, it would look very pretty.    :D


I purchased this lipstick at HEB Grocery (which is a grocery store here in Texas, almost like a Wal-Mart) on sale for $1.97 with a $3.00 off coupon but regular price was $4.97. GREAT BUY (especially because I got it for sooooo cheap)!!
